Christiaens Group's Scalable Projects in China

The "Wuhe" Project
(China)

Christiaens Group has successfully implemented a scalable project model in China.
The company has developed a proven concept that can be applied repeatedly, with a focus on reliability, solid quality, and high-performance standards.

Project "Wuhe"

The "Wuhe" project emerged in response to a client's request in China to build a 15,000-ton per year mushroom farm in a new facility. This client had already executed multiple successful projects with Christiaens Group with comparable specs, resulting in a proven concept that could be scaled to meet specific client needs. The objective was to construct a facility that not only met current requirements but could also be easily replicated for future expansions.

Project details

  • Phase 1: 10 bunkers
  • Phase 2/3: 25 tunnels
  • Growing rooms: 3 blocks, each with 24 rooms

Engineering and Construction

During the initial implementation of the first project for this customer, Christiaens Group invested significantly in engineering to create a solid foundation. This has paid off, as the concept has been successfully operational for over 10 years. Christiaens takes pride in the durability and reliability of the design. We provide a comprehensive package, ranging from engineering and construction to climate control and the deployment of specialized machinery, including the initial startup phase.

Future Expansion - YunMeng

The success of the "Wuhe" project has led to plans for further expansion, with the next project on the agenda being YunMeng. In this case, Christiaens Group will conduct part of the production in China through Christiaens China, ensuring a European quality standard. This emphasizes the flexibility of the scalable project model, making adjustments to accommodate different locations and specific customer needs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Christiaens Group remains committed to delivering innovative, reliable, and scalable solutions for mushroom farms, with each project serving as evidence of the ongoing pursuit of excellence in the agricultural industry in China and beyond.

Climate Conditions

All bunkers are equipped with the possibility to build advanced air treatment systems, including biofilters, air scrubbers and covered hall. This ensures optimal climatic conditions for mushroom cultivation while minimizing impact on the staff and the environment.
